La Liga outfit Osasuna have on Wednesday unveiled the latest first-team head coach. The tactician chosen to lead the Rojillos into a new era? Luis Miguel Ramis.
The brass at El Sadar have of course been on the lookout for a new manager since late last month.
After Osasuna narrowly avoided relegation to the 2nd tier of Spanish football, the call was made to part ways with headmaster Alessio Lisci.
A shortlist of targets was in turn drawn up, featuring several recognisable names from across the La Liga landscape.
As alluded to above, however, in the end, the Osasuna hierarchy instead opted for a tactician with zero prior experience managing in Spain’s top-flight.
As per a statement across the Pamplona-based club’s website and social media platforms on Wednesday:
‘Club Atlético Osasuna has reached an agreement with Luis Miguel Ramis to become the team’s manager for the next two seasons. The contract with the Catalan coach will run until June 30, 2028.’
55-year-old Ramis spent the last 10 years plying his managerial trade in La Liga 2, most recently guiding Burgos to a 7th-placed finish.
