Luka Modric, aged 40 years and 291 days, became the oldest player to record a World Cup assist as Croatia beat Ghana 2-1.
The AC Milan midfielder's corner set up Nikola Vlasic for the 83rd-minute winner, sealing second place in Group L for the Vatreni.
No player in his forties has bettered that mark since 1966, when this statistic began.
Modric is the fourth-oldest player at the 2026 tournament.
Only Craig Gordon of Scotland, 43 years and 162 days, Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal, 41 years and 126 days, and Guillermo Ochoa of Mexico, 40 years and 333 days, are older.
