Lyon’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles a target for Crystal Palace | OneFootball

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (28), whose contract at Olympique Lyonnais expires at the end of next season, is being linked with a return to the Premier League, as per a report from Foot Mercato. 

Maitland-Niles has thrived since making the move to France on a free transfer back in the summer of 2023. At the time of his move, the England international’s career had been stuttering, following a loan spell at Southampton.

He would ultimately leave his formative club, Arsenal, to join Lyon. Last season, the versatile Englishman made 42 appearances in all competitions, registering six goal contributions in that time. Over the course of his time at the Groupama Stadium, he has made 115 appearances.

Maitland-Niles could be on the move this summer. Foot Mercato understands that sources in England have evoked an interest from Crystal Palace, now managed by Pierre Sage, who knows the Englishman from his time at OL.
