M6 will not show Argentina v Algeria at the 2026 World Cup, a group J opener set for 3am in France in the night of 16 to 17 June. The fixture will be available only on beIN Sports, which is broadcasting all 104 matches.
According to L'Équipe, M6 holds free-to-air rights to 54 of the 104 games from 11 June to 19 July but has opted against this slot. Head of programmes Guillaume Charles said the 3am start would not attract as many viewers as other selections.
In April, David Larramendy said the network will simulcast its selected fixtures on M6 and M6+, and that it had chosen every match kicking off between 18:00 and 23:00, a total of 47.
Two of France’s three group games are scheduled for 21:00, against Senegal on 16 June and Norway on 26 June. The third is at 23:00, against Iraq on 22 June.
The other seven M6 broadcasts sit outside those windows, most starting at midnight.
