Omar Marmoush and Rayan Ait-Nouri have returned to Manchester City training after recovering from their respective injuries.

Marmoush has been on the sidelines since picking up a knee injury while playing for Egypt in the September international break. City boss Pep Guardiola was hopeful the forward would be fit to return before the current international break against Brentford. But that plan did not come to fruition, and the 26-year-old now has now rejoined his teammates ahead of this weekend’s clash with Everton.

Like Marmoush, Ait-Nouri has been absent from the City team since the September break with an ankle injury. The Algerian is looking to add to his three Premier League appearances so far this season following his summer move from Wolves. Erling Haaland also trained after being sent home early from international duty with Norway.

However, one player who did not train was Rodri. The Spaniard lasted only 22 minutes in City’s previous match against Brentford after coming off due to a muscle injury, which led to his withdrawal from the Spain squad. Abdukodir Khusanov was also absent from training, as he continues to recover from the ankle injury he picked up in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal on September 21.

City head into this weekend fifth in the Premier League table on 13 points, three points off league leaders Arsenal.
