Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness claimed that Manchester City are in pole position to sign Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento. Wyness said,
“Yes, very much so. I think that’s pretty much nailed on as far as I’m aware.
“I heard from somebody the other day. I talked to an agent who said that it’s going to be happening. They did expect that sort of big number around the £70m mark, which is a big number, as we say, breaking the record.
“But I think he’s the right one for City. I think he’s a talented player, and it helps Newcastle fill the coffers.”
Livramento is having a solid campaign at the Tyneside club as he has managed to put in a run of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The English full-back has secured one assist in 24 appearances for Newcastle this season across all competitions.
On his day, the 23-year-old is one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. Therefore, Man City would do well to snap him up in the summer transfer window.

His current deal at St. James’ Park will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Mancunian giants to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.
Livramento is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to make some important interceptions for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when needed and can create the odd chance for his teammates from the wide areas.
The English talent is primarily a right-back but can also play as a left-bac or as a right-sided wide player if needed. He has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man City.
Livramento would add more quality to Pep Guardiola’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for regular first-team football at the Etihad Stadium next season.
At 23, Livramento has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent fit for the Mancunian outfit’s needs in the long run. Therefore, Guardiola should focus on getting him on board this off-season.
