Manchester City take on Leyton Orient on Saturday at the Gaughan Group Stadium in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Following that fixture, Pep Guardiola’s side face a gruelling run of fixtures that could potentially define their season. Following Saturday’s FA Cup tie City face Real Madrid, Newcastle, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Tottenham in crucial Champions League and Premier League fixtures. Pep Guardiola’s side will likely need all of his players available for those matches. On that front, there does appear to be positive news as a host of players have reportedly returned to training.
CityXtra has reported via X that Ederson, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Jeremy Doku have all resumed training. Whether or not any are available for Saturday’s match is unknown at this stage. But for what lies ahead the quartet will likely all begin to return to the Manchester City squad.
All season long Manchester City have battled injuries. Just as it appears that City are getting players back they’ll gain a fresh injury concern. The hope this season has been that at some point the world champions can get all of their players fit and available for selection. With a gruelling run of fixtures coming up now would be the ideal time for that to occur.
An update on the condition of the Manchester City squad is expected when Pep Guardiola fronts the media ahead of City’s clash with Leyton Orient. But it now seems that City are getting close to having nearly all of their players available. That is welcome news in what has been a testing season for Pep Guardiola’s side.
