In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Manchester United are eyeing a move for AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan next summer. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils have identified the French goalie as an ideal replacement for Andre Onana.

Maignan’s Impressive Run Of Form In Italian Football

The 30-year-old had an impressive campaign at the Milan club recently as he produced a handful of solid displays for them in Serie A. Maignan conceded 59 goals and kept 15 clean sheets in 53 matches for the Italian outfit last season across all fronts.

The French talent proved his worth as one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A in the previous campaign. Hence, it is no surprise that Man United are eager to get a deal done for him next year.

Maignan’s current contract at San Siro will expire at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for the Red Devils to sign him on a free transfer next summer.

Will Maignan Be A Good Choice For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?

Maignan can be a safe pair of hands in goal when he is playing with confidence on the field. He can use his quick reflexes to make some top saves at the back and is a good handler of the ball as well.

Standing at 1.91m, the French keeper is a strong presence in the air as well. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the high intensity of the Premier League if Man United manage to bring him on board next summer.

We can expect Maignan to add more quality and depth to Ruben Amorim’s goalkeeping department. He would be an upgrade over Andre Onana and is good enough to compete with Senne Lammens for a regular starting spot at Old Trafford next season.
