In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo revealed that Manchester United are eyeing a move for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils would have to rival Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the race to sign the Spanish talent in this transfer window.
Casado caught the eye at times with his performances at the centre of Barcelona’s midfield in the previous campaign. The Spanish sensation secured one assist but failed to register a goal in 34 matches for the Catalan giants last season across multiple competitions.
The 22-year-old is currently among the best young central midfielders in La Liga. Hence, it is no surprise that Man United are eager to get a deal done for him in this transfer window.
His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, the Red Devils would have to make a big offer if they want to recruit him later this year.

Casado loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to make the odd interception for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer as well.
The Spanish sensation is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also function as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-back if told to do so by his manager. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical style and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to snap him up this summer.
We can expect Casado to add more quality and depth to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s midfield. He is capable of fighting for a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club in the coming years.
At 22, Casado will only improve with each season. Therefore, he would be an excellent signing for the Red Devils to consider for the long run. However, Carrick has to give him some time to settle into life in England before he can get the best out of the player at the Theatre of Dreams.
