Manchester United are expecting ‘a lot of activity’ before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Ruben Amorim’s side have brought in four new signings so far this summer, spending north of £200m on arrivals including Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

There is expected to be more business before the window shuts, with both incomings and outgoings expected. Negotiations are ongoing over a deal to sign Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, while the Red Devils still have several unwanted assets to offload.

Discussing the club’s final days of the window, journalist Andy Mitten suggested it will be a busy period at Old Trafford.

“United need to sell players. I think there will be a lot of activity, I think the club are preparing for that,” Mitten told the Talk of the Devils podcast.

“It’s complicated, some players more than others. You’ve got some players and their agents really willing to engage to get the move that their client wants. You’ve got others who are not doing that, which causes frustration at Manchester United.

“I suspect Rasmus (Hojlund) from the people I’ve spoken to will go. Kobbie (Mainoo) from the people I’ve spoken to, I’d be surprised if he went. But if you got a big offer for him now, I absolutely think Manchester United would consider selling him.

“United need to move players on. I asked a couple of people yesterday and was told ‘none of the ins or outs are as advanced as being reported’.
