Franjo Ivanovic is close to leaving Benfica for Hull City on a paid loan with an obligation to buy. The move is expected to conclude the club’s striker business for 2026/27.
According to Glorioso 1904, Marco Silva does not plan to recruit another centre-forward and will make Vangelis Pavlidis his focal point in attack.
The Greece international continues to draw interest from Europe, with Barcelona among the clubs linked in Spain. Benfica, led by Rui Costa, will not negotiate his sale below €50 million.
The hierarchy also believe his value could rise, which could see the asking price increase if a concrete bid emerges.
Beyond him, Silva will turn to Jhon Durán, signed on loan in a €6.1 million deal, and to young Anísio Cabral, who remains in the senior squad.
If Ivanovic’s transfer is finalised on the terms discussed, Benfica would bank at least €25 million, recovering last year’s outlay with Union Saint-Gilloise. The forward line therefore appears set for the new campaign.
