After four years with SV Werder, Marvin Ducksch’s time in Bremen has come to an end. The Green-Whites have come to an agreement over a transfer with Championship side Birmingham City for the 31-year-old forward. The transfer was confirmed on Thursday by Peter Niemeyer, head of professional football at SVW.

“Marvin has played a huge role for us in the last four years, in re-establishing Werder Bremen as a Bundesliga club. Despite this, we knew that we were ready to begin negotiations, providing it suited all parties, which currently it does. We thank Marvin for his contributions over the last few years and wish him the best of luck for his new chapter in England,” said Peter Niemeyer.
“I look back on four successful years in Bremen in which I was able to experience so many brilliant moments,” said Marvin Ducksch on the conclusion of his time at SVW. “Werder was a special chapter in my career and one that I will always have fond memories of. Now I have chosen to embrace a new challenge, one that I look forward to greatly. I thank my teammates, the people in charge of the club, the fans, and the staff at the club, who have all supported me during my time in Bremen.”
Marvin Ducksch joined in summer 2021 from Hannover 96 and celebrated the Green-White’s promotion back to the Bundesliga in his first season, in which he scored 20 goals and provided ten assists. He then made a further 99 Bundesliga appearances for SVW, registering 32 goals and 27 assists.
