Matarazzo has extended his Real Sociedad contract until 2028, expressing delight while insisting there is more to come. He says the work has been recognised, yet he is even more excited about what lies ahead.

He believes the team retain significant potential and that plenty remains to be done. Having settled quickly, he feels a strong bond with Gipuzkoa, San Sebastián, staff and players.

He praises a club driven by passion, intelligence and ambition, while still feeling like a family, something he says is evident every working day.

He underlines a clear identity shaped by the academy, calling Zubieta a brand and a sustainable model, reflected in the number of first team graduates.

Pressure does not worry him, he feels nobody sets a higher bar than himself and he enjoys operating under it.

He signed the new deal alongside Jokin Aperribay and Erik Bretos. The president said Rino already knew the club well and gave his best from minute one, and felt La Real were extraordinary until the Copa final before perhaps falling short.

Aperribay spoke of big hopes, saying being the best from Monday to Friday is the route to a great club. He also hailed Sanse, adding their place in Segunda División and survival were no accident, with youngsters pushing hard.

The director of football was delighted to renew Rino, saying he arrived in a difficult moment and quickly found the key, and that recent months showed what this team can do with plenty still to achieve.
