West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes was not intended to be part of the Hammers players that will be returning for pre-season training next Monday, according to the BBC.
The future of the West Ham star should become clearer over the next few days, with a formal bid anticipated from his suitors.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen on Fernandes, and the Portuguese does not have a preference as he prepares to leave the London Stadium club.
The 21-year-old is open to joining either club, with his agent Jorge Mendes speaking to both clubs.
West Ham want £80 million for the midfielder, and Spurs are believed to be keen on meeting their demands.
It remains to be seen whether a deal can be concluded before the end of the week as nothing official has taken place so far.
Fernandes will not be the only one leaving West Ham this summer, with Callum Wilson in talks over a move to Brentford.
The English striker is out of contract today and will be free to join any club from next month.
West Ham will start preparations for life in the Championship next Monday, and the players who did not go to the World Cup are expected to resume.
Others will join much later but those keen on leaving the club will hope to quickly sort out their future.
Hammers captain Jarrod Bowen will be joining others at Rush Green and it is believed the club want him to stay and lead their promotion charge next term.
However, it was recently claimed live on air that he is set to join Aston Villa this summer.
Major departures are on the cards and the Hammers have to get things right in the transfer window if they want to be playing Premier League football anytime soon.
