Matheus Bidu misses Corinthians’ Bahia clash with thigh issue | OneFootball

Matheus Bidu is a late absentee for Corinthians’ trip to Bahia on Sunday at 16:00 at Arena Fonte Nova, in the 20th round of the Brasileirão. According to Meu Timao, the left-back has been left out as a precaution due to a thigh complaint.

With the first-choice left-back missing, Fernando Diniz is expected to start Argentine Fabrizio Angileri. Fellow left-back Hugo Farias remains in physical transition after a knee injury.

Concerns first arose during Thursday’s 3-0 win over Remo, when Bidu sustained a head knock in a clash with Marllon, left on a stretcher, was replaced by Angileri and required stitches. His omission from the travelling party to Salvador relates to the thigh issue rather than that head wound.

This is the 27-year-old’s second fitness setback of the season. In May, before the World Cup pause, he sprained his left ankle and missed the 1-1 draw with Peñarol at Estadio Campeón del Siglo in Montevideo in the Copa Libertadores.

Bidu has made 33 appearances in 2026, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He will hope to recover in time to be available for Thursday’s meeting with Athletico-PR at Neo Química Arena at 19:30, the 21st round of the Brasileirão.
