Max Wöber leaves Leeds United after contract terminated | OneFootball

Leeds United have confirmed Max Wöber has left the club on a permanent basis after a mutual termination of his contract.

The club said in a statement that the Austrian joined from RB Salzburg in 2023 and featured 19 times that season. He then made eight league appearances during the Championship title-winning 2024/25 campaign before a loan to Werder Bremen last term.

Wöber signed a four-and-a-half year deal following a £10m move in January 2023. It was due to expire next summer but has been cut short, allowing a free departure.

He made 28 first-team appearances for Leeds across all competitions during his three-and-a-half years on the books. Two of those years were spent out on loan, including a 2023 switch to Borussia Monchengladbach via a relegation release clause.

The defender suffered a serious knee injury on his Werder debut last summer and managed just three outings.
