"It’s not for us as a player to decide," Amad Diallo said when asked about Carrick. "But he’s been very great, doing so much for the team, a lot of experience, he knows the club and has the DNA. We think he’s the right man but we are very happy for what he is doing right now."

Amad continued to praise the former midfielder: "Since he’s arrived he’s been clear to everyone that he wants to win, he wants to reach the Champions League next season, he has been working with each player. He has been doing really well and we are happy to have him as a manager."

The Ivory Coast forward was joined by teammate Bryan Mbeumo for the press conference who echoed the sentiment.

"We’ve got good experience with him, I like playing under him as well, it’s not for us to decide, we try to take as much as we can," Mbeumo said about his manager.

The Red Devils are back in action on Monday when rivals Leeds United travel to Old Trafford.
