Milan star Christian Pulisic has stated that the Rossoneri couldn’t keep up their momentum against Liverpool, as Paulo Fonseca’s side lost 3-1 to the Reds at San Siro.

Milan did go ahead in the game through Pulisic himself early in the game but Liverpool hit back soon enough, creating chances to exploit the Rossoneri’s high-risk shape. They did deserve the 3-1 win but they could have easily got much more, with Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk scoring rather soft goals from set-pieces.

After the game, Pulisic spoke to Sky about the performance and he stated that they can’t keep the ball in the opponent’s half and that is a problem for them.

He said, as relayed by MilanNews: “Another bad result for us, we have to find solutions, improve and win games. Milan without energy? At certain times we had it but it seems that we can not keep the momentum, keep the ball in the opponent’s half of the field. Difficult start to the season for us, we are not happy and we have to change things.

“Now the derby, a great game for us and we have to give everything, fight, give a twist.”

Milan have to turn things around quickly enough as Fonseca’s job isn’t the most secure in Serie A and they need to put some wins on the board to make sure that the Portuguese stays at the club. The game against Inter will be a huge challenge.
