Chelsea star Moises Caicedo admits that he almost joined one of The Blues’ Premier League rivals ahead of them.
We are all of course hugely thankful that he decided against that in the end and decided to join Chelsea, and I’m hoping that he is not looking back on that now either.
He will be thinking about it today of course, because he is facing the very team that he says he came close to joining – Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Chelsea are back to third in the league after Manchester City won last night. But a win today will put them back in second and right on the tails of Arsenal.
Caicedo has already been speaking about the midfield battle he will face against Declan Rice today and says that he is looking forward to it. It will be a key battle.
And defender Wesley Fofana believes he knows the key to beating Arsenal today, so let’s hope he uses it!

Speaking to The Daily Mail this weekend, Caicedo said:
“I almost did it but now I’m here and I’m so happy. The timing was good.
“I waited until Chelsea came for me. People laughed. They said I chose the wrong place, but sometimes you need time to adapt to a big team. I needed that.
“I want to give everything to this club because they didn’t doubt me. I chose Chelsea because they have ambitions. I want to win trophies – more trophies with this club.”
Caicedo has already won two trophies in Chelsea blue and we can hope for more this season. We are very pleased that he chose Chelsea over Arsenal, and we can hopefully look forward to more success and that Caicedo will never regret that decision – starting with a big win today please lads!
