More than 13,000 Athletic members enter ballot for Anoeta ‘final’ at Real Sociedad | OneFootball

A total of 13,366 Athletic members have entered the ballot for away tickets for the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg at Anoeta, a tie many are treating as a final.

According to Diario Vasco, the allocation for visiting fans is 640. Real Sociedad hold a narrow advantage after a Turrientes goal in the first leg at San Mamés.

That figure is 65 more than the 575 available to La Real supporters for the first leg, reflecting a larger away section at Anoeta with dedicated access, bars and toilets for visiting fans. Osasuna received the same visiting allocation in the last 16.

Anoeta’s official capacity is 39,313, compared with 53,331 at San Mamés, a difference of 14,000 seats.

The return match is on four March and the stadium will be a cauldron. It remains to be seen whether the attendance record set against PSG in the Champions League is surpassed. There is no doubt a sell-out will follow soon.
