Nottingham Forest seized a vital 3-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur, reigniting their survival bid and the bond with their fans. Before kick-off Vitor Pereira challenged his players on their desire to stay up, Nottingham Post reports.

The visitors rode out a testing first half, then Igor Jesus struck to break the deadlock. Morgan Gibbs-White doubled the lead from Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cutback just past the hour, and Taiwo Awoniyi sealed it late on.

Gibbs-White, quiet until his finish, clenched his fists at Jesus’ opener, then answered taunting chants about Spurs missing out on him with a wry smile. Hudson-Odoi waved his shirt from the touchline as Awoniyi completed the scoring, and the squad celebrated together in front of the away end.

It was a second straight league clean sheet, with Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo commanding. Matz Sels kept his place in goal after midweek, and he may retain it in the league, while a switch to a back three could follow when Jair Cunha returns.

Spurs’ assistant Bruno Saltor acknowledged his side struggled with the occasion. Anderson said the performance was built on fight and determination, and an emotional Pereira celebrated with chest taps and fist-pumps as he collected his first league win at the fifth attempt.

It capped a huge week, with Europa League quarter-finals booked and a rise to 16th after Thursday’s win over FC Midtjylland. Pereira used his squad well, and focus now shifts to silverware and safety, both seemingly within reach, though the job remains unfinished.
