Morgan Rogers ‘to sign’ for Chelsea in English player record deal | OneFootball

Aston Villa have accepted a 2117 million offer from Chelsea for Morgan Rogers, a fee that would be an English player record, according to The Athletic.

The 23-year-old forward, currently at the World Cup with England, would eclipse the 9135 million Manchester City paid for Elliot Anderson a few weeks ago. The package is around 9137 million.

Rogers and Chelsea have agreed personal terms. He is expected to sign a six-season contract to 2032 with an additional year option. He has 21 caps and one goal for England.

A medical is expected in London on Monday. After two seasons at Villa, and a Europa League win last term, he would be moving to a Big Six club.

Arsenal were also interested, but Rogers preferred Chelsea, who are managed by Xabi Alonso.
