Morocco's number one goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, has delivered a powerful message to Lamine Yamal in recent hours.

Although they missed out on the Lamine Yamal case in recent years, the Atlas Lions have managed to persuade several big names to choose the Moroccan national team over a European side. Notable players include Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid, Amine Adli from Bournemouth, and Eliesse Ben Seghir from AS Monaco.

Lamine Yamal, for his part, opted for Spain, much to the delight of La Roja, with whom he has already won Euro 2024. While he didn’t say yes to Morocco, many Moroccan internationals still hold a positive image of the Barcelona prodigy. When asked about Yamal, Yassine Bounou was full of praise for him. "Everyone is free to represent the country they want, as long as they don't speak ill of us or throw stones at Morocco. Personally, I consider him one of our own, even if he chose Spain. I always wish him success in his career—except against Morocco," he said.
