Spain's historic World Cup triumph is set to be chronicled in a four-part docuseries, offering exclusive behind-the-scenes access.

Prime Video will air the series, detailing their journey to victory over Argentina in the 19 July final.

Ferran Torres's extra-time winner secured Spain's second World Cup title, their first since 2010.

This victory also made them the first nation to simultaneously hold both the men's and women's World Cup trophies, the latter won in 2023.

The squad's remarkable achievement comes during an unbeaten run of 38 matches across all competitions – the longest by any European side. Around two million jubilant fans greeted the team on Madrid's streets upon their return.

The docuseries will be available as part of a Prime membership.

Spain’s hero Ferran Torres believed “destiny was written” for him and his side after scoring the winning goal in the World Cup final.

“I think in the end the goal came from 47m people [approximately the population of Spain], not just those of us that are here,” Torres said.

“Today destiny was written, it was made for us to win. We’re far from our people today but we tried to be as close as possible to them.

“Finals are hard. When you have [Lionel] Messi on the opposing team, you do get worried but we always backed ourselves and tried to show our football and I think we managed to do it once again.”

A peak audience of 15.8 million viewers tuned in to watch the World Cup final on the BBC.

The event attracted an average audience of 13.9 million on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the BBC having a 64 per cent share of all TV viewing.

ITV and ITVX saw an audience peak across devices of 3.8 million viewers.

Former England captain Alan Shearer said on BBC One: “There is no doubt that the right team won.

“From start to finish, Spain controlled possession. They were the ones looking to play football, create chances and get in behind.

“This is a result for football because of the way that they have played.

“Spain deserve it.”

The release date for the series has not yet been confirmed but it is understood it will be before the end of 2026.
