Newcastle United face Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup fourth round at St James’ Park on Wednesday evening.
The Magpies defeated Bradford City 4-1 in the previous round, while Tottenham recorded a 3-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers.
Newcastle won the League Cup last season and will be determined to retain the trophy.
The Magpies have won just three Premier League games this season, but triumphed in two of their first three Champions League games.
Tottenham have been superb on the road this term, but have also struggled to produce consistent results.
Spurs have been strong offensively, scoring 27 goals across all competitions. They have conceded just nine times.
They are expected to give Newcastle a run for their money.
Newcastle have the better head-to-head record, but Spurs have won five of the last six meetings.
Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall are close to returning to action for Newcastle, but it is unknown whether they will feature. Yoanne Wissa is ruled out.
Cristian Romero, Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie have stepped up their recovery but may not be involved for Spurs.
Yves Bissouma, Ben Davies, Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison and Koto Takai remain sidelined.
Nick Woltemade: Newcastle’s top scorer with five goals across all competitions.
Bruno Guimaraes: He scored the winning goal versus Fulham and is a vital cog in midfield for the Magpies.
Mohammed Kudus: One of the best signings of last summer, Kudus’ directness has been key for Spurs.
Joao Palhinha: The Portuguese has been Tottenham’s best midfielder, making them a more solid side.
