A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Sunday evening been lavished in fresh praise on the part of fans the world over.
The player in question? Pedri.
Midfielder Pedri is for his part currently locked in action on the international front.
The 22-year-old, as expected, was afforded a starting berth in the Spanish engine room for the country’s World Cup qualifying meeting with Turkey.
And safe to say, it did not take him at all long to make his mark…
Inside the opening six minutes on Sunday, Pedri conjured up a moment of utter brilliance, to put Spain in front.
After picking the ball up outside the hosts’ penalty area, the Barcelona man left a defender for dead with a brilliant dummy, before directing a sumptuous right-footed effort into the far corner of the net.
And the significance of such brilliance has not been at all lost on those watching on…
In fact, many have been quick to make use of the goal to reiterate the growing take that Pedri currently stands as world football’s very best midfilder.
