Lazio reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals after edging Bologna 4-1 on penalties, the quarter-final finishing 1-1 in regulation.

Football Italia named Tijjani Noslin their Player of the Match, with Kenneth Taylor and Bologna striker Santiago Castro also highlighted.

Castro scored Bologna’s goal and was a constant menace, particularly before the interval. Noslin later found space in the six yard box to make it 1-1.

Jens Odgaard endured a quiet night for Bologna and was withdrawn with around 20 minutes remaining. Vincenzo Italiano got much right early on but could not adjust to Lazio’s second-half momentum as pressure mounts after a dismal run.

For Lazio, Maurizio Sarri earned praise for timely changes after Pedro, arguably their standout until his injury, went off. He introduced Noslin and tweaked the front line with Maldini to swing the contest.

Nuno Tavares had 10 minutes, was booked for a rash challenge and felt erratic, yet he converted in the shoot-out.
