Marusic shut down Nicolo Cambiaghi then Federico Bernardeschi, hit the long pass that sparked the equaliser and converted Lazio’s third kick. Alessio Romagnoli’s composure anchored the defence.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru atoned for a heavy touch by supplying the assist for 1-1. Nicolo Rovella’s return added control from deep, while Kenneth Taylor covered most ground and slotted the decisive penalty.

Ivan Provedel denied Cambiaghi early, reacted slowly to Castro’s opener, then saved Lewis Ferguson’s shoot-out attempt to hand Lazio the edge. Gustav Isaksen stretched Joao Miranda without a defining moment, Daniel Maldini pressed diligently, and Pedro impressed, then suffered an agonising injury before half-time. From the bench, Nuno Tavares took the first kick, Boulaye Dia linked play and converted, and Noslin was lively from the left as Lazio closed it out 4-1.
