Nottingham Forest are exploring a move for Sporting defender Ousmane Diomande, with talks held between the clubs and no formal offer yet, Record reports.

Oliver Glasner, who has replaced Vitor Pereira, is reshaping his squad at the City Ground this summer. Xaver Schlager is set to sign and a second bid for Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall is expected.

Forest want to bolster central defence, with Murillo working back from injury and interest in Jair Cunha. Diomande, 22, joined Sporting from FC Midtjylland in 2023 and has long been linked with the Premier League.

Sporting are said to value the Ivory Coast international at €50 million, about £42.4m. Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Leeds United have also been linked, while AC Milan are said to be considering him and Ruben Amorim has previously worked with him.

Murillo missed the weekend win at Notts County, and Glasner said the defender is back training, increasing his workload and aiming to rejoin normal sessions soon.
