VfL Wolfsburg announced their next transfer as Muhammed Damar joined from TSG Hoffenheim on a permanent transfer. According to “kicker”, the transfer fee is around €6 million as the attacker signed a deal until 2031 with his new club.
The Berlin-born midfielder has only played 270 minutes of Bundesliga football after his strong loan at Elversberg alongside Fisnik Asllani. The current Germany U21 international came through the youth system of Eintracht Frankfurt. He’ll now return to 2. Bundesliga with his latest move.
“Muhammed was on the radar of several clubs because of his qualities. That makes us all the more pleased that he has chosen VfL Wolfsburg. He possesses outstanding game intelligence, moves extremely well between the lines and finds creative solutions even under pressure,” said VfL sporting director Pirmin Schwegler
“For Mo (Damar), last season was personally challenging. Nevertheless, he has always put himself in the service of the team and thus contributed his part to the success. All sides agreed that a new environment would make sense. We wish Mo to show his undisputed talent there and continue his footballing and personal development.” said Hoffenheim’s managing director Andreas Schicker.
“For me, the top priority was to reliably get playing time. Therefore, this step to a very ambitious second division club like Wolfsburg was only logical. I can’t wait to get started and achieve something together with the team. I am grateful to TSG for being able to realise this transfer. I take fond memories from the Kraichgau with me and wish the club all the best.” said the 22-year-old.
