Emersonn (21) has completed a switch from Toulouse FC to Ipswich Town, as confirmed on Wednesday. It represents a record sale for the Ligue 1 club.

Emersonn only joined the club last summer from Turkish club Goztepe in a deal worth a little over €3m. One year later and he leaves for 10 times that fee. The deal, worth €32m, breaks Le TéFéCé’s previous record sale figure of €25m (the fee that West Ham United paid for Issa Diop). 

The Brazilian, in his one and only season at Toulouse, played 31 times, scoring seven goals and registering three assists. The Brazilian striker has signed a five-year deal with the Premier League side, now managed by former RC Strasbourg Alsace manager Gary O’Neil. 

Further departures are expected over the summer. Charlie Cresswell is notably highly coveted. Stade Rennais and Crystal Palace are in the race to sign the former England youth international.
