Official: Former Real Madrid star joins Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami | OneFootball

Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami have early this week announced the signing of a former member of the defensive ranks at the likes of Real Madrid and Sevilla.

The player in question? Sergio Reguilón.

Left-back Reguilón for his part most recently spent time on the books of Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

After a series of loans away from north London, though, it became clear that the Spaniard no longer featured in the plans of the Lilywhites.

His contract was therefore allowed to expire, with Reguilón having been a free agent since the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

As alluded to above, though, on Monday, the 28-year-old has found for himself a new club.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of recently-crowned MLS champions Inter Miami:

‘Inter Miami CF announced today that it has signed Spanish left back Sergio Reguilón through December 2027, with an extension option until December 2028. Reguilón, who will occupy an international roster slot, adds valuable depth to the squad, bringing a wealth of experience having competed at the highest levels of European football.’

Reguilón joins Lionel Messi and co. in Florida as a direct replacement for the departing Jordi Alba.
