Matteo Gabbia has penned a new deal which will see him at Milan until 2029.
Gabbia has been without a doubt a standout performer for Milan since returning to the club from a loan spell at Villarreal last January.
Paulo Fonseca doesn’t have a permanent duo at center-back, but there’s a greater sense of calm on behalf of the fans when they see Gabbia’s name in the XI.
Today, the club announced that the Italian, who grew up in the youth sector of the Rossoneri, has signed a new contract:
“Milan is delighted to announce that Matteo Gabbia has renewed his contract until 30 June 2029,” a statement reads. “Born in 1999, Matteo has worn the Rossoneri shirt since he was 12 and his determination and contribution, both on and off the pitch, deeply align with Club values. After totalling 84 appearances and five goals, Milan and Matteo will continue to write their story together.”
Gabbia, who scored the winning goal in the Derby della Madonnina against Inter earlier this season, also got a bump in his salary and will reportedly be earning 2m per season.
