Paris FC officially announced the departure of their head coach Stéphane Gilli on Sunday afternoon. Antoine Kombouaré was immediately appointed as his successor.

The experienced 62-year-old coach, who has previously worked with RC Strasbourg Alsace, Paris Saint-Germain and FC Nantes, has signed with the Parisian club until the end of the season. An option to extend his contract for a further year if Paris FC remain in the top flight has also been included in the deal.

Promoted from Ligue 2 at the end of the 2024–25 season, Les Parisiens have had a turbulent return to the first division. Under Gilli, who was appointed head coach of PFC in 2023, they have won only five of their 23 league games this season, leaving them in 15th place in the table, six points above the relegation zone.

Kombouaré, who initially did not want to takeover a club mid-season, was ultimately won over by the ambitious project of Paris FC, spearheaded by the Arnault family, majority shareholders, and the Red Bull group.
