Taking to Instagram, Lewandowski posted an emotional video capturing some of his best memories with Barcelona, along with a message that read as follows:

“After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on. I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. 4 seasons, 3 championships.”

Expressing gratitude to everyone he met during his time at the club, Lewandowski added:

“Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years.

What next for Lewandowski?

With his exit now announced, Lewandowski brings an end to a four-year stint at Barcelona, having joined from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022.

During this time, he won three La Liga titles along with a Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cup honours.

He will say goodbye to fans tomorrow against Real Betis in what will be Barcelona’s final home match of the season.

So far, he has 119 goals and 24 assists from 191 matches for Barcelona. He will hope to add to that tally in the two remaining matches.

As for his next move, the 37-year-old has offers from Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer in the USA. So, it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Barcelona posted a touching message to say goodbye to the veteran striker, who will go down as a legend at the club despite being there for only four years.

“Thank you, Robert Lewandowski, for every goal, every fight, and every magical moment wearing these colours. Culer forever.”
