Marvin Ducksch opened the scoring in the sixth minute and later struck the winner as Birmingham City beat Coventry City 3-2.

The striker pounced early, meeting Kai Wagner's cross with a right-footed finish from the centre of the box. His movement across the near-post area repeatedly unsettled Coventry City's centre-backs and set the tone for Birmingham.

He decided it after the restart, sweeping in from the right side of the area (63.) after Patrick Roberts picked him out. The finish was crisp and low, restoring Birmingham's advantage at a key moment in the game's flow.

Ducksch finished with three attempts, two on target, and four touches in the box, plus two aerial duels won and one key pass. Those numbers underlined a penalty-area display built on sharp timing and efficient end product.

With Birmingham finding consistent delivery from wide areas, notably through Wagner and Roberts, Ducksch's runs kept Coventry City's defence on the turn and ensured Birmingham controlled the decisive moments.

Birmingham rise from 17th to 13th in the Championship and visit Cambridge United in the FA Cup next. Coventry City remain top and travel to Stoke City in the FA Cup.
