The move brings to a close Griezmann’s outstanding career in Spain, during which he scored 298 goals and registered 132 assists in 792 professional appearances for Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad.

Griezmann played a key role in France national football team’s triumph at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and has also won the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and Copa del Rey. He will have the opportunity to add another trophy to his collection when Atlético face Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey final on 18 April.

Griezmann will join Orlando City as a Designated Player once Major League Soccer’s secondary transfer window opens.

The deal is expected to run for three years, keeping him at the club until 2029.
