Oso seized the Seville derby, his display pointing to a new owner of Sevilla’s left flank at the Sánchez-Pizjuán and strengthening faith in the academy.

Introduced at half-time at La Cartuja after accelerating his recovery from a muscle injury, the 22-year-old shackled Antony, drove Sevilla forward and teed up Alexis Sánchez to launch the fightback completed late on by Isaac Romero. Sevilla are now four matches unbeaten. El Desmarque reports that his 2022 move from Málaga’s youth ranks, in a deal led by Monchi, was sealed at a bullfighting-themed roadside inn near Antequera.

The coaching staff had rated his rise even before the derby, and his commitment has resonated in the dressing room. With Suazo suspended, all signs point to Oso starting on the left against Rayo Vallecano at the Sánchez-Pizjuán.

His maturity after recent fitness issues has impressed staff and supporters, and his ability to operate as a long full-back or winger offers a modern tactical edge. The current momentum invites ambitious planning in which new signings must win places from established academy products.

On arrival he suffered a serious hamstring injury at the Carretera de Utrera base, yet spartan professionalism and a switch from winger to modern full-back accelerated his growth. He is contracted until June 2027 and the club are working to further protect a prized asset amid external interest. Oso’s name now carries real weight at Sevilla as a standard-bearer for a fast-rising generation.
