Marseille can raise their share of Mason Greenwood’s economic rights to 65% if they qualify for the Champions League this season, club president Pablo Longoria said at a press conference on Thursday.
According to GetFootballNewsFrance.com, Marseille currently hold 60% of the forward’s economic rights and 100% of his sporting rights.
Manchester United retain a significant sell-on percentage, which was cut by 10% last season when Marseille increased their stake. A further five percent would be added with Champions League qualification, taking Marseille to 65% and leaving United on 35% of his economic rights.
Longoria said the club are delighted with Greenwood’s development and highlighted Roberto De Zerbi’s work with him as extraordinary.
Greenwood is currently Ligue 1’s top scorer and has 14 goals and four assists in 21 matches in all competitions this season.
