Olympique de Marseille reached an agreement on Monday for the departure of president Pablo Longoria, who reflected on his time at the club later that day.

The former president set out his thoughts in a LinkedIn post on Monday evening, calling it an important and meaningful chapter that he closes with respect, perspective and gratitude.

Longoria arrived in July 2020 in an executive role, then became president following Jacques-Henri Eyraud's departure in February 2021.

During his tenure, OM reached the Europa Conference League semi-finals in 2022 and the Europa League semi-finals in 2024, and featured in the Champions League in 2022-2023 and 2025-2026.

He characterised OM as a defining part of his career, not only for what the club represents in football but also for the challenges it brings.

Longoria was demoted in February after coach Roberto de Zerbi left, with Alban Jutster handling the presidency on an interim basis. He also reflected that football extends beyond results or transfers, focusing on building a model that is competitive, sustainable and socially relevant, and on the human bond between a club and its members.
