Palmeiras push for Danilo as Botafogo prioritise Europe and cite €30 million mark | OneFootball

Palmeiras have identified midfielder Danilo as their sole target this transfer window, with Abel Ferreira keen and talks ongoing with Botafogo.

According to Nosso Palestra, the club plan to replicate strategies used in recent signings, including for forwards Vitor Roque and Jhon Arias. The approach reflects the complexity of negotiations and the high sums involved.

However, Palmeiras accept they cannot be overly passive with domestic competitions set to resume soon. Botafogo are aware a sale is possible, but prioritise Europe and want Danilo available until any deal is finalised.

The Rio club plan to take a tough stance and are in no rush while the international window is not yet open. They have been signalled a €30 million proposal from Zenit, about R$175 million, and will use it as a benchmark in talks, resisting lower offers.

Danilo and his representatives believe there should be clarity on his future by the end of next week, either a transfer or a continued stay with the club.
