Palmeiras completed their final session on Wednesday before facing Vasco at São Januário on Thursday, and Abel is not expected to have three starters available, Vitor Roque, Maurício and Murilo.

According to Globo.com, Vitor Roque is still under treatment after trauma in the Paulistão semi-final against São Paulo. He underwent intensive work to feature in the finals and scored the title-clinching goal against Novorizontino.

Maurício sustained a cut on his foot in Sunday’s 2-1 win, in a challenge with Rômulo, and has trained separately since. Murilo has a medial collateral ligament injury and is undergoing conservative treatment with the club’s health and performance unit. The club have not set a recovery timeline, and the expectation is that he will not be out for long, with daily assessments planned.

With the trio absent, changes are likely. Ramón Sosa is likely to replace Vitor Roque as in the first leg of the state final. Allan and Felipe Anderson are competing to cover Maurício, while Bruno Fuchs is in for Murilo.

Abel could also rest one of his holding midfielders, with Marlon Freitas or Andreas Pereira potentially making way for Emiliano Martínez.

A probable line-up is Carlos Miguel, Khellven (Giay), Gustavo Gómez, Bruno Fuchs and Piquerez, Marlon Freitas (Martínez), Andreas Pereira, Arias and Allan (Felipe Anderson), Flaco López and Sosa.

Wednesday’s work featured tactical build-up drills and small-sided games. The squad travel to Rio de Janeiro today for a 19:30 Brasília time kick-off on Thursday.
