Palmeiras concluded their World Cup involvement with seven squad members experiencing contrasting journeys, from a run to the final to early exits.

According to Nosso Palestra, Flaco López featured for Argentina, used sparingly but supplying one assist as Argentina finished runners-up.

For Colombia, Jhon Arias was among the standouts. The attacking midfielder scored once and helped his side reach the last 16, where they were eliminated.

Paraguay caught the eye through Gustavo Gómez, Maurício and Ramón Sosa. The team produced one of the tournament’s shocks by knocking out Germany before losing to France.

Maurício impressed, scoring against the United States and converting a penalty past Manuel Neuer in the shootout that ousted Germany, a display that increased his market value. Gustavo Gómez again led from the back as Paraguay’s key defensive pillar, while Ramón Sosa featured only in the opener.

Uruguay underperformed. Emiliano Martínez and Joaquín Piquerez did not play, remaining on the bench throughout, and the team exited in the group stage.
