Paris FC and Parma ‘to submit’ offers for Benfica forward Gustavo Varela | OneFootball

Gustavo Varela continues to attract interest outside Portugal, and Benfica are weighing up fresh options for the young forward’s future. After a season on loan at Gil Vicente, he is unlikely to be included in the Benfica squad in 2026/27.

Record reports that Paris FC and Parma are tracking him closely, having already signalled interest to Benfica, and could soon submit formal bids.

Benfica’s hierarchy, led by Rui Costa, are open to monetising the player while wanting to retain some control. A loan with an option, or a sale with future clauses, remain possibilities.

Before any decision, Varela will complete the campaign with Gil Vicente. The striker is set for the final league match at Alvalade, a game that could prove important for the Barcelos club.

This season for Gil Vicente, Varela, valued at two million euros, has played 32 games, 31 in Liga Portugal Betclic and one in the Taça de Portugal. Across 1,543 minutes, he has scored seven goals and contributed three assists.
