Corinthians were beaten 1-0 by Novorizontino on Saturday night in the Campeonato Paulista semi-final at the Jorjão, a result that also ended the club’s long unbeaten run at the ground.

The last time Corinthians had lost there to Novorizontino was on 10 February 2019 in the initial phase of that season’s Paulistão. In a tight contest with few chances, Murilo Henrique struck the winner for the home side.

Since that meeting, the clubs had played five more times at the Jorjão, with Corinthians putting together three victories and one draw before this decisive rematch. That positive sequence lasted for more than seven years.

The recent record featured two fixtures at the stadium in 2025, one in the Paulista first phase and another in the Copa do Brasil third round, both 1-0 wins for Corinthians. The national cup tie also marked Dorival Júnior’s first match in charge.

With Saturday’s defeat, the overall head-to-head at the Jorjão now stands at 14 matches, five wins each and four draws. Corinthians have scored 13 times there and conceded 12.

The first meeting finished 1-1 on 28 June 1987. The most recent, on 28 February 2026, ended 1-0 to Novorizontino.

After their Paulistão exit, Corinthians are next in action on Wednesday 11 March in the Campeonato Brasileiro, away to Coritiba at the Couto Pereira, kick-off 21:30, in the fifth round.
