Lorenzo Pellegrini, without the captain’s armband, is back to enjoying football.
The Giallorossi midfielder is back to smiling and producing high-quality plays to help the team achieve its goals.
Gasperini is pushing for the 1996-born player to stay in the capital, having scored 38 goals and provided 29 assists in the last five seasons. Roma is therefore considering a possible contract renewal.
Initial discussions have begun regarding Lorenzo Pellegrini’s contract renewal.
As Corriere dello Sport reports, his entourage has begun discussions with Roma with a hot topic: his salary, which is currently too high (€6.5 million with bonuses).
The scenario is clear: to stay in the capital, the player must reduce his salary by at least 50%.
The resulting team will need to be more complete, with more resources, but building it will require balance: investing in the transfer market and retaining those who can still make a difference. Pellegrini falls into this latter category of players.
The Giallorossi number 7 is facing a choice: stay in his hometown of Roma, possibly even as a co-protagonist, or look elsewhere for a central role and a higher salary.
