“We discovered through a press release a very important project on which we have no details, and its direction, bringing investment funds into a commercial company alongside FIFA, raises many questions,” he told France Inter.

FIFA has set out a proposal to create a commercial company, with the stated aim of increasing revenues for the governing body, its president and its member federations.

Philippe Diallo is president of the French Football Federation and oversaw the appointment of Zinédine Zidane as France head coach.

“The national federations have not been involved and have no specific basis to take a position on subjects that are obviously fundamental for the future of football.”

“From today I will speak with my main colleagues in the leading European federations, along with the UEFA president, to understand how to approach projects on which we have no particular information.”
