Celtic face Middlesbrough this afternoon in the latest pre-season test for Martin O’Neill’s side. The game is set against the backdrop of growing discontent over the club’s lack of communication and lack of signings.

After the sensational league triumph on the final day in the most dramatic of circumstances, Celtic return to Paradise today to face the English Championship side. After the incredible high of the final stages of the season, excitement has slowly waned with anxiety replacing it.

The feeling appears to be widespread across the support with Celtic fans voting with their feet and boycotting this afternoon’s game.

Of course, when the time comes to support the team and try and help MON’s side towards another title then the support will turn up. However, the statement is clear that a large amount of fans – myself included – have opted to stay away to send the message to the club.
