Player Ratings: Lazio 0-3 Como – Miserable Night for Marusic & Co

At the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Lazio were soundly beaten by Como for the second time this season, as Maurizio Sarri’s men had no answer for the rampaging Lariani, who held possession and controlled the action from start to finish.

Martin Baturina may have been fortunate on the opener, and Nico Paz’s first goal ensued on the back of a goalmouth scramble, but the third goal (also scored by Paz) encapsulated the essence of Cesc Fabregas’ delightful brand of football.

Here are our player ratings for Lazio, who arguably produced their worst performance since the start of the season.

Lazio XI (4-3-3)

Ivan Provedel – 6.5

Despite conceding thrice, the goalkeeper is one of the few Lazio players who can hold their head high, as none of the goals were his mistake. He did well to deny Paz from the spot, and also pulled off a point-blank save on Lucas Da Cunha.

Adam Marusic – 4

The experienced full-back completely lost the plot and was all over the place. He was beaten for pace by Alex Valle on the first goal, and looked shaky, both offensively and defensively, for the rest of the evening.

Mario Gila – 5

The Spaniard was a bit slow to react on the second goal. He also wasted possession with his attempted through balls.

Alessio Romagnoli – 4.5

A below-par evening for the experienced Italian defender, as he was second to the ball on too many occasions, which cost his team dearly.

Luca Pellegrini – 5

The left-back was perhaps unlucky on the second Como goal, but he was wasteful in his occasional attacking forays.

Reda Belahyane – 6

The Moroccan was perhaps the best Lazio outfielder, as he managed to retrieve possession on several occasions, and at least attempted to drive the ball forward.

Danilo Cataldi – 5.5

The Lazio stalwart ran more than anyone else during the first hour of play before making way for Rovella. He couldn’t prevent the Como midfielders from running the show,

Kenneth Taylor – 5

A hardworking display from the Dutch midfielder, but he just couldn’t provide any spark in the middle of the park. He also gave away a penalty for a late kick on Maxence Caqueret.

Matteo Cancellieri – 5

The winger was behind Lazio’s solitary first-half chance, setting up Zaccagni with a square ball. However, it was still a poor performance both offensively and defensively.

Petar Ratkov – 5

A full debut to forget for the Serbian striker, who was left isolated upfront. His most significant contribution was clearing the ball following Provedel’s penalty save.

Mattia Zaccagni – 5.5

As usual, the club captain was on the receiving end of some harsh treatment from his markers. He had the chance to halve the deficit before the interval, but waited too long to shoot, and his effort was blocked by Jean Butez.

Substitutes

Tijjani Noslin – 5

The Dutchman ran tirelessly, but wasn’t given a sniff at the ball.

Nicolo Rovella – 5.5

Lazio have been crying out for the Italian’s elegant touch in midfield, but he needs time to regain his condition after four months on the sidelines.

Gustav Isaksen – 5

Another forgettable showing from the Dane, who added little to nothing with his introduction.

Manuel Lazzari – 5.5

He was at least a bit more adventurous than Marusic in attack, but did very little to write home about.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru – N/A
