Plymouth Argyle fans have issued their response to the club's latest statement
Plymouth Argyle have released a statement backing Tom Cleverley as their manager after a difficult start to life back in League One.
The former midfielder was appointed to replace Miron Muslic following his exit in the summer when relegation from the Championship was confirmed.
The 36-year-old previously spent last season managing at Watford, where he guided the team to a 14th place finish before being dismissed.
The Pilgrims have made a difficult start to the campaign, and sit 22nd in the table after 14 games, having won just four times.
This has led to pressure from supporters, with many expressing their frustration with the head coach during this poor run of form.

Plymouth CEO Paul Berne has penned a statement in which the club have backed Cleverley as manager.
He has made it clear that the Pilgrims are not willing to make any more major changes at this time, as they look to create a stable environment after a difficult last few months on and off the pitch.
“None of us – the Board, Tom, staff, or the loyal Green Army - are comfortable with the start to our season. It has been a very disappointing start, and I think we all recognise that,” wrote Berne, via the club’s official website.
“I feel that the club has been through an enormous period of instability, both on and off the pitch.
“We have seen too many changes of personnel, and this has made it difficult to find consistency in what we do.
“I believe strongly that we need to return to a state where we regain that consistency, and therefore success.
“That will take time, but this is the right thing for our club and our future.
“In the case of our Head Coach, let me be more explicit. We hired Tom as a young, bright, ambitious Head Coach who could come and be a big part of Argyle’s next phase.
“We are a quarter of the way into Tom’s first season with us. Whilst results have been disappointing, nothing has changed in terms of Tom being the right person for this club.
“We need to bring that stability throughout the club, and this comes from Head Coach downwards.
“We are confident that things will improve.”
Plymouth supporters have offered their reaction to this latest update from the club, with many expressing their frustration.
The Pilgrims have been criticised for doubling down on the appointment of Cleverley, claiming that they are making the same mistakes as they have in the past.
But player recruitment has also been highlighted as an area of weakness, as well a lack of efforts from those who are in the team.
Supporters have also urged the board to take some responsibility for the poor start to the season, especially as they were hopeful of a top six finish this season that now looks all but impossible to achieve.
Yet many fans have also criticised the style of play under Cleverley, comparing it unfavourably to Wayne Rooney and Ian Foster, who were in charge last season.
Next up for Plymouth is a first round FA Cup clash against Wycombe Wanderers on 1 November in a 3pm kick-off.

The Plymouth CEO has given Cleverley his support publicly, but that’s almost always the sign a manager will be replaced sooner rather than later, even if their intentions are to stick by their man.
Results have been extremely disappointing, and there is no hiding from the fact they’re occupying a bottom four spot at the moment.
The 2-0 loss to rivals Exeter City last week will have only poured on the misery, and maybe their upcoming FA Cup clash will prove the reprieve the team needs from their poor league form.
If results don’t improve soon, then it will become very hard for Plymouth to justify sticking by Cleverley any further.
